About WPCF

The World Print & Communication Forum is a collaborative platform for the world’s major transnational and national printing associations to work together to promote the development and prosperity of the global printing industry. WPCF also facilitates and encourages communication with other parts of the print value chain to further develop the print and communication market through international and cross-industry collaboration and knowledge-sharing. The purpose of WPCF is to promote the development and prosperity of the printing, graphic arts, communication and allied industries in all regions of the world; to improve the management of these industries with a view to their continuing and increasing prosperity; and to provide a platform for exchange of information and cooperation between users and suppliers of technology and services and to jointly promote and develop other related activities.

WPCF 2020 Conference

Redefining Print- A Congress of World Leaders

The WPCF 2020 conference is scheduled to be held in Mumbai, India from 8-10 January 2020.The conference will see speakers and delegates attending from its member countries that include Australia, Belgium, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, Korea, USA and India.

Apart from the members, delegates are expected from invitee countries such as Argentina, Chile, Columbia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Indonesia, Mexico, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Ukraine and Venezuela.

The conference in this year’s edition will look at the latest trends and technologies that are expected to shape the industry in the coming years. The thought leaders from the world over are expected to be joined by leading luminaries from India in the interactive conference.

This conference will be held concurrently with PAMEX 2020, one of the most prominent printing and allied machinery exhibitions in India.

Michael Makin has been the President and CEO of Printing Industries of America on since 2002 and currently also serves as a Chairman of the World Print and Communications Forum, based in Brussels. Prior to joining Printing Industries of America, Makin was President of the Canadian Printing .

Beatrice Klose,
Secretary General,
INTERGRAF
As secretary general of Intergraf, the European Federation for Print and Digital Communication, Beatrice has expert knowledge of the graphical industries sector and the European policies affecting the sector. She took over this position in 2003.

Abdool Majid Mahomed,
CEO,
Printing SA
Dr Abdool Majid Mahomed joined Print Industries Federation of South Africa (PIFSA) also called Printing SA, in short, as the new CEO from April 2019. Printing SA comprises of member companies in the print, packaging and signage fields.

Dr. Markus Heering,

The German Association of Printing and Paper Technology
Dr. Markus Heering has held the position of Managing Director of the German Association of Printing and Paper Technology within VDMA since January 2008 and in this capacity, is also a member of the drupa Board.

Narendra Paruchuri, Chief Managing Director, Pragati Offset Pvt. Ltd.

Narendra Paruchuri, the winner of the Viren Chabra Print Leadership Award 2019, is a graduate from Chemical Engineering from the Manipal Institute of Technology. He worked in a Metal Finishing company before joining the family business- Pragati Offset Pvt. Ltd., a commercial printing press started by the father, Sri Paruchuri Hanumantha Rao in 1962.
Narendra was instrumental in upgrading the press with the latest technologies and building a team that was professional in every way. Tech-follower to tech-leader – Pragati traversed the path rapidly making it a pioneer in many facets of the Printing industry. He has made Pragati an extension of the customers team, rather than just another supplier. Pragati is the winner of highest number of domestic and international awards.
A winner of the SAPPI International Printer of the Year award for the years 2006, 2008 & 2010, Pragati is regarded as one of the best, not only in the country but worldwide.

Michael Makin, President & CEO, Printing Industries of America

Michael Makin has been the President and CEO of Printing Industries of America on since 2002 and currently also serves as a Chairman of the World Print and Communications Forum, based in Brussels.
Prior to joining Printing Industries of America, Makin was President of the Canadian Printing Industries Association and for almost 10 years served as an executive with the Canadian Construction Association.
He serves on the Board of the Printing and Graphics Scholarship Trust Fund (PGSF), an organization which provides $450,000 in scholarships each year to students entering the graphic arts industry.
In 2005,Makin was honored with the Earl Sundeen Award for contributions to education by the International Graphics Arts Education Association (IGAEA). In 2006 he was named a member of the Ben Franklin Honor Society. Makin is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and the Pittsburgh Society of Association Executives. He is a former National President of the Carleton University Alumni Association and a past Governor and Senator of this University.

Beatrice Klose Secretary General, INTERGRAF

As secretary general of Intergraf, the European Federation for Print and Digital Communication, Beatrice has expert knowledge of the graphical industries sector and the European policies affecting the sector. She took over this position in 2003. Apart from ensuring the graphic industry’s voice at EU level, Beatrice also holds the position of secretary general of the World Print & Communication Forum supporting the activities of the cooperation of printing associations world-wide.
In her work for Intergraf she works on the development of ISO Standards, organises large international conferences and exhibitions for the security printing industry and contributes to the certification for security printers. She started her career in Brussels by working for the German Mannesmann company in their Brussels office where she was responsible for She studied Business administration as well as European Studies and International Management in Germany and France. Beatrice is German and has worked and lived in France, Germany, the US and Belgium.

Abdool Majid Mahomed, CEO, Printing SA

Dr Abdool Majid Mahomed joined Print Industries Federation of South Africa (PIFSA) also called Printing SA, in short, as the new CEO from April 2019. Printing SA comprises of member companies in the print, packaging and signage fields. Dr Mahomed has worked in multiple industries for over thirty years. Most recently he was the Head of the Professional Body for the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS SA), serving as the voice for the profession, ensuring compliance with SAQA, boosting membership and exam registration numbers across the SADC region, and developing curriculum for supply chain qualifications. Before thatrole he served as an Executive Director at the University of South Africa (Unisa).
He served as an operations manager of a complex supply chain of study material planning, printing and distribution, ensuring quality materials are developed, replicated and distributed on time. He managed both printed items and multimedia. Unisa is the largest open distance learning university in Africa, servicing about 400,000 students globally.
Prior to that he headed up the Languages, Publications and Media unit within the Communications Directorate of the Gauteng Department of Education’s Head Office in Johannesburg. He played a number of roles covering all facets of Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Partnerships and stakeholder development, Media relations, Crisis management, Website development, Campaigns management and Conference and events planning. He also taught languages at school, university and adult level.

Kaz Arai, General Manager - Public Relations, The Japan Federation of Printing Industries

Has more than 30 years of experience working in the Publication Printing Sector, beginning his career with Dai Nippon Printing Co, Ltd. in 1989. Working in its San Francisco and New York offices, he rose to be the Vice President and General Manager of the company.
He was posted as President de Le Bureau de Liaison a Paris de Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd for 4 years. Returning to Tokyo in 2017, he was assigned to work at Japan Federation of Printing Industries (JFPI) since April 2019.

Chang Xiaoxia, General Manager CCDC Culture Co., Ltd. Beijing Keyin Media & Culture Co.,Ltd.

Ms. Chang Xiaoxia, assistant to General Manager of CCDC Culture Co., Ltd. and General Manager of Beijing Keyin Media & Culture Co.,Ltd. She has dedicated herself to information communication and technology promotion in China’s printing industry. She takes lead in new media construction and periodicals publication such as ‘Printing Technology’ and ‘Printing Managers’, etc.; in providing professional consultancy, training and investigation to industry players at home and abroad and publication of valuable industry development intelligence such as ‘China’s Printing Industry Annual Report’.
Furthermore, she encourages domestic enterprises to go overseas for international communication and cooperation by organizing global exhibition ‘ALLINPRINT’ and world-wide events such as ‘China Printing Forum’, ‘Asia Label Awards’ and ‘Global Label Technology Summit’.
She has made outstanding contribution to domestic industry development and international exchange, thereby awarded many times by umbrella body of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC).

A graduate from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 2002, he subsequently received Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of Stuttgart, Germany in 2008. He has more than 10 years of experience in Large Area Flexible and Printed Electronics. He is currently leading an R&D group at National Centre for Flexible Electronics, IIT Kanpur.

Dr. Markus Heering, Managing Director The German Association of Printing and Paper Technology

Dr. Markus Heering has held the position of Managing Director of the German Association of Printing and Paper Technology within VDMA since January 2008 and in this capacity, is also a member of the drupa Board. In addition to his role as representative of the interests of German manufacturers in the printing and paper technology industry, Dr. Heering is Managing Director of The International Security Association (ESSA), The European Certification Body for Security Products (ECB), The Research Association for Printing Machines (FGD) and Print Promotion GmbH (PP).

Prof. Rajendrakumar Anayath,Ph.D Vice-Chancellor, Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science & Technology

The Vice Chancellor of the ‘Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology’-Murthal, a Haryana State Government University, since July 2017. The First non-American recepient of ‘Global Academic Excellence Award’ conferred by ‘Printing Industries of America’ in Chicago in the year 2011, he was also conferred the “Samman Award” by the All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP) in 2013 during its 60th year diamond jubilee celebrations and also the “Print Excellence Award” in the year 2017.
Indian Society of Analytical Scientists (ISAS) honoured him with the “Life Time Achievement Award” in 2015. Society of Dyers & Colourists (SDC) of UK awarded “Silver Medal” for his outstanding contribution to the global graphic arts industry and education in 2015.
Visiting professor to many Indian universities, he has produced 4 PhD’s. He is associated with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in TC 130 to develop standards for Indian print industry.
